Podcasting for the ESL/EFL Classroom 2014
Abstract:
In recent years, podcasting
has become one of the most powerful asynchronous Web 2.0 tools in our
classrooms. Its enormous educational potential allows teachers to use
it as a simple resource to support activities within the classroom and
to create audio recordings of happenings in their schools. This
workshop aims at providing basic proficiency related to the production
and publishing of digital media files (podcasts) and the implementation of podcasting
in the language classroom to enhance communication in speaking and
listening skills.
Target Audience & Sponsor:
Audience: ESL/EFL teachers interested in the use of podcasts to enhance their classes. It is not addressed to ESL-EFL teachers with intermediate or advanced knowledge on podcast recording and publishing.
Requirements: an e-mail account, basic experience in the use of web 2.0 tools (blogs,
wikis, etc), Internet access, headset (or earphones and microphone).
